Attractions & Events

Champoeg State Heritage Area is the “Birthplace of Oregon.” It was once a bustling riverside town where settlers formed a provisional government in 1843. Th e townsite was destroyed by devastating floods more than a century ago, but history lives on through the preserved buildings, historical sites and interpretive displays, as well as the Champoeg Visitor Center. Hiking, biking, tent and trailer camping, picnicking and an outdoor amphitheater.

Arts, culture, excitement abound Woodburn’s Glatt House Gallery presents fine art and craft  exhibitions, professional shows and displays by art students. The gallery, in an historic, turn-of-the-century farmhouse, offers classes, workshops and demonstrations. 2551 N. Boones Ferry Road. Thursday- Saturday, noon-3 p.m. Free. 503-982-6450

Fresh Discoveries Await You

Woodburn’s Fiesta Mexicana is three days of authentic Mexican food, dance and music. There’s a parade, piñatas and games. The soccer tournament draws the best club teams in the Northwest. First weekend in August in Legion Park.

The Woodburn Dragstrip features NHRA Championship Drag Racing each weekend, April through October. Highway 219 two miles east of Woodburn. 503-982-4461

The St. Paul Rodeo draws some of the biggest names on the circuit for this Fourth of July event. There are fireworks, music and Western artists at the Wild West Art Show. 800-237-5920

OGA Golf Course at Tukwila is an 18-hole public golf course with a driving range and restaurant owned and operated by the Oregon Golf Association. It’s a 6,650-yard, par-72 course designed by renowned architect Bill Robinson. 503-981-6105

Woodburn Memorial Aquatic Center offers year-round water adventures for all ages with a competition-sized swimming pool, 50-foot waterslide, rope swing, shallow wading pool, and 102-degree therapeutic spa. 503-982-5288

Senior Estates Golf and Country Club provides seniors a private golf and country club. It offers an 18-hole golf course, pro shop, indoor swimming pool, spa, exercise facilities, pool room and restaurant. Associate golf and club memberships available. 503-982-1776

At West Woodburn Golf Course you don’t have to golf like a pro to enjoy a good round. Th is 9-hole regulation golf course, affectionately dubbed the “sand greens” by locals, is located on Highway 219 two miles west of Woodburn.

Settlemier Park features lighted tennis courts and soft ball diamonds, a play- ground, skate park, restrooms and picnic shelters. Settlemier Avenue at Oak Street.

Legion Park offers a soccer stadium, soft ball and baseball fields, group picnic areas and a playground. Park Avenue at James Street.

Centennial Park features soccer, soft ball and baseball fields, playgrounds and picnic areas. Home to Woodburn’s Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration. Parr Road.

Enjoy a leisurely drive on Oregon’s spectacular Silver Falls Tour Route and explore the region’s pastoral landscapes, vineyards, wineries, shops and galleries – all located within minutes of Woodburn along this 55-mile scenic loop. The tour follows Highway 214 from our historic downtown to Silver Falls State Park. Along the way, explore Mt. Angel’s Benedictine Abbey, Silverton’s outdoor murals, and Silver Falls with its 10 dazzling waterfalls.

Silver Falls State Park is Oregon’s largest state park. A hike along the seven-mile “Trail of Ten Falls” takes you through scenic forests and by the historic South Falls Lodge. Amenities include cabins, picnic and swimming areas, equestrian facilities and campgrounds. 503-873-8681

The Oregon Garden in Silverton is a world- class public garden featuring floral displays, formal gardens, an extensive conifer collection, wetlands and demonstration forests.
