Our Future

Woodburn is a popular address for many corporate, retail and manufacturing companies. From high tech, specialty food processing and health care, to fabrication, manufactured home construction and warehouse distribution, Woodburn has attracted a variety of businesses.


The community has a broad economic base which includes value-added agricultural products, construction of manufactured homes, manufacturing and fabrication of industrial and food processing equipment, warehouse distribution centers and a growing retail base. Manufacturing accounts for about one quarter of local jobs, with a mean wage of $32,783.


Our Workforce

Business and education are working together to prepare workers for the challenges of a changing workplace.


Chemeketa Community College offers business and enrichment programs in partnership with local business and industry at its satellite campus in Woodburn.


The Chamber actively supports job shadowing, mentorship, work study and other programs at Woodburn High School as well as its own Leadership Woodburn program, in order to prepare our youth for the workplace.

Our Location

Woodburn is located on Interstate 5, 30 miles south of Portland, and 17 miles north of Salem. It is one hour south of the Portland International Airport and the Port of Portland; 15 minutes south of the regional Aurora State Airport. Th e community is also served by state highways 99E, 211, 219 and 214, and the Southern Pacific Railroad.


Our Economic Climate

Our city leaders advocate growth and urban renewal, and are implementing programs to attract new business and industry, while offering continued support and revitalization to

companies who already call Woodburn home.


The city has made numerous infrastructure improvements to accommodate growth, including upgrades at wastewater treatment facilities and a planned water treatment plant. Woodburn planners are working to ensure that ample land is available for development of environmentally friendly and sustainable business and industry. An urban renewal district targets the historic downtown and other areas of the community for revitalization and infrastructure improvements.


The Chamber’s vision includes continued development of new light manufacturing and industrial business, as well as growth of commercial, retail and residential sections. It strives to ensure an enhanced, healthy economic base to benefit the entire community.
